I am woefully lacking in the red department in my wardrobe so this is a dress I actually whipped up this week with some fabric I had lying around. Must. Dress. Liturgically. Appropriate.
(I was the little kid who used to match her socks to the appropriate liturgical color when I was an altar server. Liturgical year nerdiness is the way to roll, my friend!)
It'll make a good Good Friday dress, too. Cardigans cover a multitude of sewing sins, thankfully, because there are still some modifications I need to make to the top before I'll be satisfied with it.
22 weeks this Tuesday! Hard to believe I have a little over a month to go before my third trimester. Baby Sister is pleasantly active (which is to say she's active enough to keep a smile on my face, but not so much it's uncomfortable). The nausea has been a close companion for me this week, but that little girl's kicks and squirms constantly remind me...she is soooo worth every minute of hyperemesis! I'm looking forward to meeting this new little daughter of mine. Still have a ways to go, so for now I'll enjoy her little wiggly self inside me. Please keep praying that she has a healthy heart when we go back for our ultrasound...and that she actually lets the ultrasound specialist get some pictures of it this time!
Oh, Holy Week...how I love thee! Aren't you all excited for this week???
Linking up to the lovely ladies at Fine Linen and Purple.
You made that dress? No! It's so cute! Color me impressed.
ReplyDeleteWe're getting snow too. Blargh! So much for the first weekend of Spring. ;-)
Thanks! And yes...soooo ready to be done with snow!!!
DeleteWait. Are you kidding me? You just "whipped up" a dress? In a week?
ReplyDeleteIt takes me a month to sew a pillow case.
That dress is gorgeous.
Haha...I took pictures of it in a favorable light ;-) Seriously, there is still a lot I want to work on with it, but as long as I can wear a sweater...totally acceptable! I actually was inspired to pattern it after an old-fashioned dress my daughter has with a sash. So hard to figure out maternity wear!
DeleteI'm so impressed at your sewing skill! You look great!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! Every pregnant woman loves a compliment ;-)
DeleteThat dress is awesome :D And the fact that you sew(ed?) it is amazing :D
ReplyDeleteI peeked over at your post for the day, and am loving your dress, too!! So hard to find good dresses, but so satisfying when you do!!!
DeleteLiturgically appropriate AND handmade? You get a fabulous mom pass for the rest of the decade!
ReplyDeleteHaha..thanks so much! Maybe makes up a bit for the copious amounts of time I allow my daughter to be entertained by Netflix, right?
DeleteI am super impressed with your dress! It's adorable! And you just whipped it up?? Wowzers. Your baby bump is super cute!
ReplyDeleteYeah...totally winged it because I'm allergic to patterns, haha!! I admire people who can successfully follow patterns but I'm not one of them!
DeleteWow! Your dress is really pretty!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteThis whole look is just adorable! And your mad sewing skills put my pile of fabric just waiting to be whipped up into something to shame!
ReplyDeleteIf it makes you feel better, that fabric was in my big pile for almost a year ;-)
Deletewow.. very cute dress.. good job. You look so cute pregnant.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
