This week, I want you to think about what you want your domestic monastery to look like. The first question you need to answer is: why are you doing this? What do you find appealing about the image of a "domestic monastery"?
And, of course, that image will mean something different in each home. Just as every real monastery is different, so, too, is each domestic one.
So, in thinking about your family: what needs do you have? Does your family need more peace? To establish a simple, daily prayer time? To incorporate more beauty into your home?
I know the desire to grow in holiness and get to heaven is our family's biggest motivation...but it's not our only one. Tomorrow, I'll share with you why the vision of a domestic monastery is so important to me, personally (enough so that I named the whole site after it!).
Why do you want your home to become a domestic monastery? What appeals to your family?
