31 Days to YOUR Domestic Monastery

Ohhhh...I have some exciting things to share with you tonight!

First of all, check back tomorrow for some really, really exciting information about the NEW BOOK!!!

But believe it or not, I have even more exciting news to share with you tonight. I'm going to take part in the Write 31 Days Challenge. Eek!

I knew that if I wrote for that many days in a row, I needed to have an important enough reason. I needed to have a reason near and dear my heart.

So, friends, for the next 31 days, we'll be working to build up your domestic monastery.

Check back every day, and there will be a short reflection for you, to encourage you and your family as you grow in your faith. But, here's the thing - I'm not going to be talking to you about traditions to start as a family (maybe we'll have a post or two?). Mostly, I'll be encouraging you as you discern what God has in mind for your family.

I'm not writing this just for people who already practice their faith. I'm writing it for everyone. I've received some beautiful comments and feedback lately along the lines of, "I don't even know where to begin. But after reading this, I think that maybe I can do it." That's what I want for you. God has chosen the spouse/children/friends/family in your life for a reason. You don't need to do what I do in my family. You need to use YOUR gifts to do what God is calling you and your family to do!

That's exactly what I aim to do in this series. If you were raised Catholic, but now longer practice - this series is for you. If you are a convert or soon to be a convert - this series is for you. If you are single and are looking forward to family life - this series is for you. If you are single and don't know what your vocation is - this series is for you. If you are married but have no children (or no children in this world) this series is for you. If you are married with 1-20 children - this series is for you. If you go to Mass once a week or every day - this series is for you. No matter who you are, or how much or little you already practice your faith - this series is for you.

I want to encourage you, to help you to see that God is calling your little family to holiness. It doesn't matter where you've been. It doesn't matter if you continue to make mistakes every day. You can do this. You can make your home a domestic monastery.

Of course, you won't achieve that in 31 days. It's a lifelong process! But, hopefully, these 31 days will help you take the steps to get started.

And, as a bonus - I'll be collecting all the reflections into an e-book that will be available for purchase come November. If you join my mailing list, I'll even send you a free copy!

So...let us begin.
