{pretty, happy, funny, real}

{pretty}

Never was there a pretty godmother/goddaughter pair than Sister Stinky and her Auntie.

{funny}

This little girl who was sooo obsessed with trains before this trip because terrified of them when faced with the real thing. Poor Sister Stinky. (At least she had Mommy, Daddy, Grammy, and Dziadzia there to cheer her up. Daddy was the most successful by far!)

{happy}

Our pre-Labor day barbeque was interrupted by a rain shower. Thank goodness for the beautiful pavilion we were under. Sister Stinky wasn't going to let anyone rain on her parade, though...

Who else by this cutie could get her Dad and Granddad to stand out in the rain with her?

{real}

We were so blessed to be able to spend time with both sides of our family recently. We drove up to Michigan a few weekends ago to spent time with parents and sister and then the Abbot's family made the drive down to see us this past weekend. Both weekends were wonderful and I miss all of them so much! The Abbot and I are blessed with the best parents/in-laws a guy and girl could ask for, and Sister Stinky's grandparents, aunt, and uncles spoil her like crazy!

This has been one of the parts of the "cross" of grad school that we struggle with the most -- being seperated from our dear families. Neither of us has ever lived farther than a couple hours (or less!) from our families and so this has been very difficult at times. Thankfully, God has blessed us with precious times with them when we do get to spend time together, and we hold them in prayer in the in-between times!

p.s. Sister Stinky has a cold if you could keep her in your prayers. ;-)

Linking up to Like Mother, Like Daughter. Hop on over for more pictures of contentment!

  1. i am seriously amazed that she will still stay in her wrap....charlie immediately launches himself into a horizontal position and it's pretty much pointless!

  2. I love her pink pjs:) And her adorable smile--she just keeps getting cuter and cuter! And you are SO creative (referring to the previous post)! The things you manage to create yourself continue to amaze me. I can't wait to see what you come up with next:)
